Quality Assurance Engineer - Batesville, IN

 

Scope of the Job:

This position located in Batesville, IN reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. You will have complete quality ownership of assigned product lines throughout the value chain of the lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities:

1. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for all quality related matters.

2. Will lead and direct activities of other supporting quality functions as necessary and serve as a business partner with NPD to ensure design-for-quality. Serves as core-team lead for quality functions.

3. Leads all quality assurance tasks in new product development to ensure processes are capable and quality tools and systems are in place through product life cycle.

4. Has primary responsibility for product validation consistent with customer requirements.

5. Oversees supplier quality activities to ensure supplier quality standards are met.

6. Takes as a personal mission the improvement in quality and reliability of assigned products in a manner that is clearly visible to our customers.

7. Ensure standardized quality measures and processes are in place and being reported as detailed by appropriate quality procedures. Conduct periodic audits of manufacturing processes and documentation.

8. Drives data analysis of product quality performance to identify high priority product issues relating to safety, complaints and systemic customer dis-satisfaction issues.

9. Provide training to ensure proper implementation and use of quality tools and procedures.

10. Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues.

11. May be responsible for directing the work efforts of engineers and technicians.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial engineering required. Masters in Engineering or related discipline preferred.

2. Must have minimum 5 years quality assurance experience.

3. Practical experience working with new product development and manufacturing and resolving customer complaints.

4. Medical device experience and FDA regulation knowledge preferred.
