PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, INFORMATICS DEVELOPMENT
LOCATION: HOUSTON, TX
Scope of the Job:
The Biopharmaceutical Solutions Group has an exciting career
opportunity for a Product Manager, Informatics Development.
This position is located at the corporate headquarters located in Houston, Texas.
Under minimal supervision you will be responsible for all aspects of product life-cycle
management of healthcare informatics products. You will enhance existing product offerings
to provide new information-based products and services which exceed customer expectations.
In this position, creativity and latitude are expected.
Responsibilities Include:
1. You will work closely with internal business unit leaders to understand business
needs and priorities as they relate to informatics products. You will synthesize business
information, along with internal, market and competitive information into a clear, prioritized
requirements list You will conduct industry assessment to make recommendations relative to
market sizing and quantifying of informatics market opportunities and work with business lines
to ensure alignment.
2. You will create, maintain, and present internal and external product roadmaps which are
ROI and market driven.
3. You will develop product strategy elements including business cases, pricing, portfolio,
and buy/build/partner direction as well as provide support for management of availability release
processes. You will write and present product position documents.
4. You will consult with internal customers for requirements gathering, product refinement
and market knowledge. You will document and present market requirements.
5. You will analyze the existing product and services portfolio in light of requirements and
drive improved specifications through market research, brainstorming, and development sessions with
internal business unit clients, prospects and business unit leaders to develop competitive
differentiation and innovation in new products within available time constraints and resources.
6. Analyze and assess output to ensure that the needs of customers, prospects, partners and
the markets are in fact built and delivered to a high level of satisfaction.
7. You will use operational excellence analytics to enhance existing products and services
and identify new areas of growth.
8. Collaborate with marketing in the development and execution of product launch and
communication strategies.
Candidate Profile and Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Equivalent. Masters
Degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 6 years of healthcare informatics or data analysis experience required
with two (2) years of product development experience in a clinical, statistical or technological
environment required. Familiarity with operational excellence concepts preferred.
3. Experience with requirements gathering and documentation for software or product management
activities as well as analyzing marketing and/or operating data required. Proficiency with computer
systems and Microsoft (Office Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel) and SAS required.
